A customisable framed wall art print of a papyrus from the Book of the Dead of Nedjmet, about 1070 BC, Egypt.
Ancient Egyptian ‘Books of the Dead’ played an important part of the journey from death to the afterlife. They contained magical texts, ‘spells’ and illustrations, and were often written on papyrus. In this frame Nedjmet and her family have placed offerings of food and lotus flowers to the falcon-headed god Osiris.
Nedjmet lived during Egypt’s 20th Dynasty. She married Herihor, a High Priest who claimed Kingship of the Temple of Amun, making Nedjmet a queen of sorts. Surviving contemporary letters suggest that she was involved in the political murders of two rebel policemen.
All customisable art prints are available framed or unframed in a choice of sizes and frame colours.
